Production design for the White Stripes' 2007 tour centered around a bright red set inspired by Jack White's idea of a photo studio's seamless paper backdrop. A smooth curved backdrop for the initial European tour grew into a catwalk with three staircases for the subsequent North American leg. Color was limited to the specific White Stripes colors of red, white and black. The stage was dominated by the iconic imagery of the two performers' giant cast shadows.
