A culmination of years of low budget experimentation for Sonic Youth’s largest scale tour. Custom aluminum framed spheres covered in textilene skin and studded with star strobes were used as three dimensional projection surfaces while a matching star strobe curtain was layered over a custom painted backdrop. Eye popping strobe effects, rich shadow and deep color created updated psychedelia for the 1990s.
